A Resolution Concerning the G-QUE Report

WHEREAS CGS initiated the G-QUE project in order to gather detailed information from graduate students on the quality of their experience at The Ohio State University; and

WHEREAS successive CGS Presidents and other officers have devoted countless hours to working in partnership with the Dean of the Graduate School to implement the G-QUE study, analyze the results, and revise the analysis; and

WHEREAS the CGS Executive Committee has also been satisfied that its major concerns, as well as suggestions regarding data analysis, presentation, and general editing of the report have been or will be addressed before the G-QUE Report is published; and

WHEREAS the G-QUE study represents an unprecedented effort to gather detailed data directly from graduate students on the overall quality of their experience at The Ohio State University; and

WHEREAS this report provides important information and guidance on a range of issues central to understanding the experience of Ohio State graduate students; and

WHEREAS it is hoped that the G-QUE Report will provide a foundation for the process of formulating and implementing measures to enhance the quality of the graduate experience at OSU;

BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the Council of Graduate Students gives its endorsement to the major conclusions of the G-QUE Report; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of Graduate Students gives its thanks to CGS Presidents Kathleen Carberry Skestos, Ron Meyers, J. Briggs Cormier, Vice-President Allyson Lowe, and to the many other graduate students and administrators whose hard work made the G-QUE possible; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of Graduate Students gives its thanks to Dean Susan Huntington for her extraordinary efforts in drafting the report; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of Graduate Students looks forward to working closely with the University to use the G-QUE results to support the implementation of a range of measures to enhance the quality of the graduate student experience at Ohio State.
