A RESOLUTION COMMENDING ADVISOR JAMES M. SIDDENS

WHEREAS James M. Siddens, Assistant Dean of the Graduate School and College Secretary has announced his retirement from The Ohio State University; and
WHEREAS Dean Siddens has served as faculty advisor to the Council of Graduate Students for the past eighteen years; and
WHEREAS Dean Siddens has always been supportive of the Council and its objectives, faithfully attending delegate meetings and functions; and
WHEREAS Dean Siddens has always made himself available to the Council's officers and members for consultation; and
WHEREAS Dean Siddens has been recognized for his work with the Outstanding Advisor Award for his work with CGS,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of Graduate Students commend Dean James M. Siddens for all his outstanding leadership and guidance; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council wish Dean Siddens all the best in his well-deserved retirement; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council make Dean James M. Siddens an honorary member of the Council; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council create the James M. Siddens Award for Distinguished Faculty Advising, to be award annually in recognition of Dean Siddens' advocacy on behalf of graduate student concerns and in recognition of the importance of advising excellence to graduate student success.
