AN ACT AMENDING THE BYLAWS ON SELECTING RESEARCH AND GRADUATE COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVES

Section 1. The purpose of this act is to amend the CGS Bylaws regarding election of representatives to the Research and Graduate Council in order to better represent the range of graduate students at Ohio State.
Section 2. The Bylaws shall be amended as follows:
Section III.1: General - The Council of Graduate Students holds the authority to select student members of the Research and Graduate Council and the University Senate to represent the interests of all graduate students. One representative from each of the ten
administative areascollege clusters of theGraduate SchoolCouncil of Graduate Students, plustwo at-large representativesone representative from an interdisciplinary program and one at-large representative, shall be elected to the Research and Graduate Council. One representative from each of the tenadministrative areascollege clusters shall be elected to the University Senate. The ten college clusters shall be: 1) Arts; 2) Biological Sciences; 3) Business; 4) Education; 5) Engineering; 6) Food, Agriculture, and Environmental Sciences and Human Ecology; 7) Humanities; 8) Mathematical and Physical Sciences; 9) Medicine and Public Health, Dentistry, Nursing, Optometry, Pharmacy, and Veterinary Medicine; and 10) Social and Behavioral Sciences, Social Work, and Law.
Article III - Representatives to the Research and Graduate Council and University Senate
Section 3. These changes will take effect immediately upon approval at a regular meeting of the Council of Graduate Students.
