An Act Amending the Bylaws on Committee Appointments

Section 1. The purpose of this act is to amend the Council’s bylaws regarding presidential concurrence on appointments to the Council on Student Affairs. This amendment is presented in accordance with Article X of the CGS Constitution.
Section 2. When the Council amended its Constitution to seat the Vice President on the Council on Student Affairs, it did not amend the bylaws to fully comply with the intent of the constitutional amendment: with the passage of that amendment, all CGS appointments to the Council on Student Affairs are ex-officio.
Section 3. To align the CGS bylaws with the Constitution, the CGS Bylaws shall be amended as follows:
Article I - Membership
Section I.6: Committee Service
I.6.C. Selection to the Athletic Council, the Council on Academic Affairs,
the Council on Student Affairs,the Student Health Insurance Committee, and the Student Trustee Selection Committee requires the concurrence of the CGS President.
Section 4. These changes shall take effect immediately upon approval at a regular meeting of the Council of Graduate Students.
