A Resolution Commending Dean Susan L. Huntington

WHEREAS the Vice Provost for Graduate Studies and Dean of the Graduate School of The Ohio State University, Susan L. Huntington, after ten years of service has announced her resignation effective April 1, 2005; and
WHEREAS Dean Huntington has served the University and the Graduate School as a Distinguished University Professor, Distinguished Scholar, and Distinguished Teacher; and
WHEREAS Dean Huntington has always been an outspoken advocate of graduate student education, teaching, research, and service; and
WHEREAS Dean Huntington has collaborated with the Council of Graduate Students to successfully co-author the Graduate Quality of University Experience (G-QUE); and
WHEREAS Dean Huntington has worked to improve conditions for graduate assistants in the areas of increased stipends, health care benefits, and standard appointment documents; and
WHEREAS Dean Huntington has been personally involved in the activities of the Council and offered support to the organization, its leaders, and its members,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of Graduate Students commends Vice Provost and Dean Susan L. Huntington for her many efforts to improve the quality of graduate education and enhance the quality of graduate life at The Ohio State University; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of Graduate Students makes Vice Provost and Dean Susan L. Huntington an honorary member of the Council.
