A RESOLUTION COMMENDING SECRETARY SUSAN W. FISHER

WHEREAS Susan W. Fisher has served as secretary to University Senate for the past five years; and
WHEREAS Secretary Fisher has been supportive of graduate students; and
WHEREAS Secretary Fisher has was responsible for moving the Graduate Compensation Benefits Committee (GCBC) from an ad hoc committee to a permanent university senate committee; and
WHEREAS Secretary Fisher has served graduate students by sitting on nearly 60 graduate thesis committees and as an advisor to nearly three dozen graduate students; and
WHEREAS Secretary Fisher has been recognized for her service and teaching including Faculty Award for Distinguished University Service (2000) and the College of Biological Sciences Dean's Award for Classroom Teaching (2004);
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of Graduate Students commends Secretary of University Senate, Susan W. Fisher, for her outstanding leadership; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council wishes Secretary Fisher all the best as she assumes her new role as Chair of the Entomology Department; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council makes Secretary Susan W. Fisher an honorary member of the Council of Graduate Students.
